get to know Roamie

1. What inspired you to pursue this dream? Music has always been a part of my life; big or small. Now more than ever, having a family makes me realize that I want to love the life I live. I want to have the lifestyle this dream would afford me; while it will take work and sacrifice, it's a "job" I would do over and over. When Kobe made his retirement speech and spoke about the journey, the hard parts of the dream, and said that actually is the dream, it resonated. Everything "hard" about working on myself as a singer has truly been the best times I have had. The turning point was when I walked into OC Hit for my first vocal lesson. I felt so silly as I said my dream was to make singing my career, to be one of the greats, to make it big. It felt so far away to think about singing as even a potential reality. The response from my coach was, "It's closer than you think," and it completely changed my life. That's when I really went into high gear, and my mindset began to shift.

2. Who are a few of your top musical influences? Ariana Grande, Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey (I also love India Arie for her ability to heal with music.)

3. What is your favorite song of all time? There are so many, but the most meaningful in my singing evolution was "Always be my baby" by Mariah Carey. We were prepping for a high school dance rehearsal and it was the song I choreographed my solo performance to. I was singing the song as we were getting ready in the locker room, and my friend stopped me and told me I had a beautiful voice. :)

4. What is your current favorite song? "We're Good" by Dua Lipa or really any Dua Lipa song

5. What’s your favorite food and drink? Sushi, Water and Gin Cocktails

6. What's your dream car? Matte Black R8, Custom Rolls, Matte Black Lambo

7. What is your biggest career accomplishment to date? My EP; it's my first tangible work of art that I've accomplished amidst my full time job, being a wife, mother, etc.

8. If you could write your next song and collaborate with any songwriter or artist in the world who would it be and why? Cardi B, Jack Harlow and/or Drake. I think my music style paired with their contrasting vibes would be magic. At the same time, you'll get the consistency of that powerful boss vibe; knowing you're sexy and owning it, fun, on top of the world.

9. If you could feature an artist on your next single who would it be and why? My Dream would be Cardi B.

   She's got the “Boss B” vibe and the contrast in style that I think would be an amazing collab; Realistically, a rapper with the same type of message but distinct style.

10. If you could perform anywhere in the world where would it be and why? I would love to do an all American tour, a European tour, and one in the Philippines. Studying abroad in Italy really expanded my musical taste to include European Pop, so it would be an honor to perform there! My Filipino pride runs deep, and touring there, maybe even including a few other Asia pacific countries, would be a dream!

11. What advice would you give to other inspiring artists that are looking to have a career in the industry? 1. The same thing I was told; “your dream is closer than you think.” It isn't far away and you can do it. 2. It is never too late to focus on the things you love. 3. Be authentic.
